As I sit here in the student lounge, I have a certain someone on my mind. We’ve been able to talk more often, but that is going to end pretty shortly.

This song is addictive. The chorus gets stuck in my head fairly often. Read the rest of this entry »
I am not happy with this video, but it was the best way I could share this song for any who have not heard it or don’t remember it.
Any how, on to the post. This song is absolutely beautiful. It pretty much says the things I want to feel…That I’ve found the person that is my compliment, the one I need and fit with on every level….Is this unrealistic? Read the rest of this entry »
Just one of those songs that is stuck in my head off and one. Enjoy

The title of this post is the title of the latest release by the Kings Of Leon. It’s pretty spiffy, if simple, song. It is getting a ton of airplay here, but luckily I don’t go much of anywhere by myself these days. This means I have limited times when I can listen to anything other than country when riding down the road.

Its a beautiful full moon out tonight. The weather here has been fantastic for days. Highs in the 80s, lows low enough I need a light blanket to sleep under at night. But it has me thinking about not having someone to truly share so many things with. Read the rest of this entry »

A musical great passed today at the age of 94 from pneumonia complications. This man’s contributions to music, especially guitar music, are legendary. Les Paul (June 9, 1915 – August 13, 2009) was adding electronics to guitars and pioneering multi-track recording before the microchip was around. He was also the godfather of Steve Miller of the Steve Miller Band.
Though he had no formal training in music or electronics, his Gibson guitar is often the guitar of choice for many of today’s musical starts. He also was a pioneer in the art of overdubbing where by a sound is added after the original recording has been made. Mr. Paul led a long and accomplished life. You can read more about him on Wikipedia or here.

Another Artist I heard on the same trip with my mother this past Friday was Luke Bryan. His song Country Man caught my attention pretty quickly. As I listened I knew I had to hear more of his almost classic country sound. From his MySpace Page I listened to the tracks there and did enjoy his sound just as much as I thought I would. His first major label album,I’ll Stay Me, seems to me like it will be a hit.
He’s lead a some what normal, if at times tragic, life. He had plans in place to move to Nashville right after high school, but delayed them due to the loss of his brother in a tragic car accident. Lucky for country music, his father finally gave him the push back towards his calling in life. Read more about him on his artist page on GAC.com.
Give his tune, Country Man, a listen in the video above. I am also including some links for you to find out more about him.

Luke Bryan YouTube Channel — No music videos in his own submissions, but he does have a couple of his as favorites. His submissions look to be snippets about his life and things he’s up to. Kinda cool I think.
I was riding home with my mother from doing some errands when the local country station played I song I’d not heard before. Not surprising as the only country music I hear is older stuff I know, what my fellow High Volume Radio DJ’s play or what I might catch the few times a week when I go out with my mother.
