We have all heard the Legend of Sleepy Hollow, I am sure. I have had the pleasure of watching the movie based upon the story. I grabbed it in my search to watch more of Tim Burton’s movies and I am glad I did.

While this movie is not quite so dark as Sweeny Todd, the setting and atmosphere is very Tim Burton. Johnny Depp plays the main role of Ichabod Crane. The lovely Christina Ricci plays Katrina Van Tassel, the daughter of the gentleman Crane is staying with while he investigates the beheadings of 4 of the town’s citizens. I had to watch the credits to confirm that I really did see Christopher Walken as the Hessian Horseman. All in all, a good job in the casting of this move.

This look at the story of Sleepy Hollow is an interesting  tale. I enjoyed watching Depp play the rational and easily spooked Crane. It was hard not to laugh the times the character fainted after some of the extraordinary events.

This movie was definitely worth seeing. I found the characters to be well played, and, with such superb casting and atmosphere, it did the legend a good turn by being extremely well done.
